MSC CRUISES AND PORTMIAMI CELEBRATE COMPLETION OF NEW TERMINAL TO HOME PORT REVOLUTIONARY MSC SEASIDE

MIAMI (December 8, 2017)MSC Cruises — the Swiss-based world’s largest privately-owned cruise line and market leader in Europe and South America — together with PortMiami, today celebrated the completion of cruise Terminal F at PortMiami. The brand new terminal will serve as the homeport for MSC Seaside, MSC Cruises’ revolutionary new flagship arriving December 21, as well as MSC Divina, currently sailing from PortMiami. The completion of the terminal was celebrated with an official ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, December 7, attended by Mayor Carlos Gimenez, Juan Kuryla, PPM director & CEO of Port of Miami, Rick Sasso, chairman of MSC Cruises USA, Roberto Fusaro, president of MSC Cruises USA and members of the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners.

“MSC Cruises is eager to continue growing its presence in South Florida and in the U.S.,” said Rick Sasso, chairman of MSC Cruises USA. “The completion of Terminal F is the culmination of a strong, longstanding partnership with PortMiami and a testament to our commitment to the region and our positive outlook for the future.”

The new Terminal F not only offers guests an enhanced check-in experience as they prepare to set sail, but also expands PortMiami with a brand new building to accommodate the industry’s next generation of mega cruise ships. The new terminal includes:

  • • New two-story, 38,282 sq. ft. building addition
  • • Expanded, comfortable and elegant waiting area with seating for up to 1,500 guests
  • • Efficient ticketing hall with 60 new ticket counter positions
  • • Improved, 1,100 sq. ft. VIP private waiting area to accommodate more guests sailing in the expanded MSC Yacht Club on board MSC Seaside
  • • Dedicated 3,000 sq. ft. special group lounge
  • • Smoother disembarkation process with a more flexibleand efficient baggage claim area
  • • Facility advancements for embarkation including some of the smart ship technology available on MSC Seaside

In partnership with PortMiami, MSC Cruises has been actively involved in the entire process of designing the new cruise terminal, ensuring that the new terminal will meet the needs of MSC Seaside and MSC Cruises’ guests, while providing a simple and pleasant experience at embarkation and disembarkation.
