Tropical beaches, luxuriant vegetation and rugged landscapes

llha Grande is an island located off the coast of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and renowned for its natural beauty: tropical beaches, lush vegetation and rugged landscapes.

Ilha Grande is one of the best-preserved areas of Brazil 's Atlantic rainforest, making it one of the richest and most diverse ecosystems in the world and a hotspot for biodiversity and conservation.

The island’s status as a world protected area means Ilha Grande has remained unspoiled and undeveloped – much of the land is covered by the Ilha Grande State Park and the rest of the island is subject to stringent development restrictions.

As a result, the island has no roads and is a car-free zone. However, small-scale ecotourism is encouraged; the protected seas around the island hold a unique mix of tropical, subtropical, and temperate-zone marine life so lucky visitors will be able to witness coral and tropical fish along with penguins and Southern right whales – probably the only place in the world where this is possible.

Ilha Grande offers a taste of paradise for nature-lovers, and your day off-ship will provide a chance to get back to nature and enjoy a break from the glitz and glamour of life onboard your luxury cruise ship!

For this special vacation destination we offer great deals on some of the best attractions on Ilha Grande: a package of carefully planned excursions that marry relaxation with visual stimulation.
