Corfu has been written about by so many illustrious writers and poets who were drawn here by the island’s spectacular natural beauty. Even Ulysses stopped at Corfu on his return voyage to Ithaca and visitors will still sense the ancient atmosphere of this unspoiled island, as though one could magically step back in time at any moment. Today, though, we have a more contemporary program of sights and tours to offer cruise guests.

Ships dock at the New Port. At the exit of the cruise terminal there is a taxi service that will take you to Corfu town. Alternatively you can walk (approximately 30 minutes) to the city centre.

COR01 - ACHILLEION S PALACE - 4 hours - 2012
Corfu marked the final stage of the legendary trip made by the mythological Greek God, Ulysses on his return Ithaca. We will not have such an epic journey, although we will travel around the island admiring Corfu's lush landscapes. The excursion includes a visit to the Achilleion's Palace, former residence of Queen Elizabeth of Austria, and a richly decorated home set in pretty gardens overlooking the sea. The Palace is dedicated to another Greek hero, Achilles. Return into Corfu town for a short visit with free time to stroll around.Price per person $69.00 Adults $48.00 Children

A bus will transfer you to a gorgeous beach for a few hours of pure relaxation: soak up the sun while sitting on the shore of this enchanting Ionian island.Please note: the excursion is planned from June through September.

COR03 - PALEOKASTRITZA - 4 hours - 2012
After leaving the port of Corfu, a short and scenic drive takes you through the island's interior, which is characterised by orange groves, cypress and pine trees, to the west coast and the beautiful bay of Palaiokastritsa just south of Angelokastro. You will have a chance to visit Palaiokastritsa's Byzantine Monastery, which is situated high up on a rocky promontory with gorgeous views of the island and the Ionian Sea. While the monastery was originally founded in the early 13th-century, the current complex dates from the 18th century and is still home to a handful of monks even today. The monastery church is ornately painted with icons and frescoes covering the walls and ceilings. On returning to Corfu town, you will have time to explore the vicinity on your own before returning to the ship.Please note: this excursion is not a beach tour but it offers the possibility to do a brief stop on the beach for those guests who won't be interested in the Monastery visit. The beach does not offer any kind of infrastructure.

COR03WI - PALEOKASTRITZA - 4 hours - 2012-2013 Depart from the port for a scenic drive inland through countryside marked by orange groves, cypresses and pines trees to arrive at the beautiful bay of Paleokastritza. Visit the ancient Monastery built high on a rocky outcrop where we will admire some typical examples of Byzantine painting. Continue on to Corfu town for a visit and free time to wander around.Price per person $51.00 Adults $36.00 Children
COR04 - BOAT TOUR - 5 hours - 2012 
Board a motorboat for a pleasure cruise along the coast past Corfu's picturesque old town, historical port district and the city's 16th-century Venetian fortification, known as the New Fortress because there is also an even older one. The tour then continues on to the islet of Pontikos, a tiny patch of land near the coast that is colloquially known as Mouse Island due to an optical illusion, as a result of which a white staircase on the isle resembles a mouse's tail from afar. A photo stop will be made at Vlacherna Monastery. A further stop at Corfu town's Faliraki quarter will give you a chance to have a drink and watch the world go by at a café. The final call on your tour is the tiny island of Vido at the mouth of Corfu port. You will have time to relax and swim in the Ionian Sea.Please note: the excursion is planned from June through all September.

COR05 - SAFARI JEEP - 5 hours - 2012 We will leave the port onboard a jeep across the main roads of Corfu, with the possibility to admire the wonderful view and its villages. Brief stop for pictures. Before returning to the port there will be a stop at an inn where it will be offered a drink and where we will enjoy a typical dance of Corfu.Note: There is no driver for the jeep and the guests will drive it ; international drive license is compulsory. Each jeep can accommodate maximum 4 guests.
