TLN06 - The Charming Village of Le Castellet : ab. 4 hours - 2012
On leaving the port, a 45-minute transfer will take you to Le Castellet, a little feudal village perched on the tip of a promontory, whose picturesque Provençal location is sure to enchant you. This village is famous for being the setting of the cult French film, "The Baker's Wife", and for its F1 racetrack a few miles from the village. After entering Le Castellet by passing through two fortified gateways you will feel transported back in time as you wander the small medieval streets, past the pottery and leather workshops, candle and ceramics shops. You can admire the small squares lined with beautiful, historic houses that have been carefully and tastefully restored. From the esplanade of the 15th-century castle you can admire the lovely panorama of the Sainte-Baume mountain ridge as well as the vineyards below the village.
