SMT02 - Horseback and Beach - 2 hours - 2011-2012
Experience a trail ride with short ocean ride. The group will be welcomed and given a safety briefing, issued with the mandatory safety helmets and assigned to a horse with Western style saddle. Turning onto the rocky trail, the ride starts to enter a protected nature area. As you ride the trail you will be surrounded by the natural flora and fauna. The horses are sure footed and know the route well, so keep your head up and enjoy some wonderful views as you are never far from the ocean. On clear days you will be able to spot neighboring islands. At Cay Bay you will be able to take a short ride along the beach and into the water. Returning to the starting point the transfer vehicle will either drop you in Philipsburg, making your own way back to the ship, or you can continue on to the pier and your ship.
Note: Buoyancy belts will be issued for the beach riding portion of the tour and that you will definitely get wet. Please dress appropriately with shoes and clothes you do not mind getting wet. Long pants with sensible shoes are strongly suggested. No back packs or bags etc., should be taken on the ride. Children under 10 years are not permitted on this tour and there is also a strict weight limit of 250 lbs (114 kilos). All participants/guardians will be required to sign a release/waiver form. There are inherent risks involved in horseback riding and participants should be aware of this before deciding to participate.

SMT04 - Panoramic Tour of St. Maarten and Shopping - 2.5 hours - 2011-2012
The smallest island shared by two nations has some of the best vistas in all the Caribbean. Set out and discover how the French and Dutch have blended together their distinct characters in this complete orientation tour. From your bus, witness the tremendous amount of development which has made the 37-square-mile island so popular and busy. First head through the Dutch side and capital of Philipsburg, founded in 1763 by John Philips, a Scottish captain in the Dutch Navy. Then it's the hilly drive to the other side of the island to experience the capital of French St. Martin. Originally a fishing village on a swamp for which it was named, Marigot is filled with gingerbread houses and sidewalk bistros. You'll have time on your own to explore the many boutiques lining picturesque narrow streets. Next the tour travels past Grand Case, a seaside town known as "gourmet capital" of the Caribbean, due to the abundance of restaurants. Here at Grand Case Pier, you board the Seaworld Explorer, a semi-submarine, which takes you on a 45 minute narrated tour of the coral reefs surrounding Creole Rock. Seaworld Explorer is a state-of-the-art semi-submarine developed in Australia for use on the Great Barrier Reef. SMT32 - Historical Philipsburg by Bicycle - 3 hours - 2011-2012
Your guide will meet you at the entrance to the cruise ship terminal and give you a short lesson on the operation of your Trek bicycle. You will start riding along the Point Blanche road to the start of the Boardwalk in the capital, Philipsburg. Your first historical stop will be at the Passangrahan Hotel, St. Maarten's oldest inn, which was originally the Governor's House and then the Royal Residence when St. Maarten's Queen Beatrix would visit. Continue along the Boardwalk for your next stop at the Captain Hodge's Wharf which is the center of this bustling & colorful town and was the original fishing and shipping venue in the early 1900's. Walk over to the Philipsburg Courthouse which was built in 1793 and see the lawyers and judges congregating every Wednesday for cases as they have been doing for hundreds of years. Get back onto your bicycle and continue pedaling along the Boardwalk until you come to the end of the beach and cross over to Back Street, one of the three one-way streets which make up the routes through Philipsburg. Pass the oldest traditional West Indian (Gingerbread) cottages, and start your first climb up the Little Bay Hill where you can stop and rest at the Look Out Point which offers an incredible view of the town. Enter the beautifully located Divi Little Bay Resort and begin your second short incline to the historical Fort Amsterdam. Built in 1631, this strategic point was the place of many battles between the Spanish and Dutch fleets in the 17th century. The remaining walls and cannons offer a glimpse into St. Maarten's rich history as well as a sense of tranquility while you view Philipsburg and the Cruise Ship Terminal from this spectacular vantage point.

SMT33 - Kayak Snorkel Adventure - 3.5 hours - 2011-2012
The tour leaves from the clean sandy Kim Sha beach after a short paddling technique demonstration by the guide. You will paddle through the beautiful Simpson bay and you will reach a small beach at the Pelican Resort where you will pull up your kayak and have a snorkeling instruction by your guide. You will then swim along with your guide for 5 minutes to the shallow reef at Pelican Rock, where you will spend 45 minutes looking at the beautiful world undersea. Elegant Angel Fish, brightly colored Parrot Fish and hundreds of reef fish are just a few of the amazing creatures you will glimpse in this serene location. There is a beautiful sandy beach where you can rest if you feel the need to as well as an accompanying guide on a kayak who can assist you while snorkeling. On the way back along the Pelican coast, the guide will point out the neighboring islands of Saba, St. Eustatius and St. Kitts that can be seen clearly from this southern side of St. Maarten.

Your trip starts by being escorted from the gangway down the pier to a gem of a catamaran. You'll sail to a splendid snorkelling spot and discover underwater life or just relax on the boat. Next, sail to the shopping Mecca of Philipsburg. The Dutch capital has only two main streets, but it's packed with duty free shops and the Caribbean's top bargains. On board, before disembarking, you will be given a snack and drinks. Upon arrival at the town pier you can sit and tan or hit the shops along Front Street. Earn your Black Belt in "retail therapy," then unwind at the beach with a view of your ship in the distance. Again, the routine is unstructured and you set the pace. Do nothing or do everything Philipsburg has to offer. You're free to return to the ship on your own whenever you like with the provided "water taxi bracelet".
Note: Return to the vessel is at your leisure. Bring along a towel, cover up, sun screen and hat. Bring sandals and street clothes (short and t-Shirt) for town. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Minimum age to Snorkel is 10 years. Proof of age required. Entry into the water is directly from the craft. All participants must be good swimmers.
