FMH03 - Jungle River Tubing (3 hrs) - Falmouth, Jamaica
Treat yourself to bags of fun on this exciting and scenic river tubing tour down the Martha Brae River, giving you plenty of time to both enjoy the ride and the spectacular landscape to either side. The river itself is said to have been named after the ancient legend of an Arawak witch called Martha Brae who is alleged to have known where gold was stashed. With the aim of seizing the hoard, the greedy Spaniards then captured the witch and forced her to show them the way. However, far from taking them to a Jamaican El Dorado, the witch led the unsuspecting Spaniards to a cave they only believed to hold their prize. On the witch’s release, she invoked a spell that changed the course of the river, causing the cavern to flood. You can make up your own mind as to what might have happened to the Spaniards. The waters of the Martha Brae are known to contain precious stones – some of which you may spot – and also represent the route that runaway slaves would take in days gone by in a quest for freedom. To round off your tour, you can pay the so-called Trading House a visit, the only store of its kind in the Caribbean, to browse through the merchandise or purchase souvenirs, pottery and photos. Please note: food can be purchased at an additional cost and storage lockers are available for rent. Max. weight per guest is 250 lbs. The tour is not recommended for pregnant women. Guests are recommended to wear swimwear under outer clothing, to use sunscreen and insect repellent as well as to bring a towel.

FMH26 - Falmouth Highlights & the Outameni Experience (3 hrs) - Falmouth, Jamaica
Situated on Jamaica’s northern shores, the beautiful Georgian town of Falmouth bears testament to the country’s rich colonial heritage at every turn. Your immersive Jamaican experience begins with a drive through the lovely old town, including a visit to one of the island’s oldest places of worship, St. Peter’s Anglican Church. Moving on, you’ll then reach the fabulous Outameni Experience, a unique 90-minute blend of music, art, dance, drama and film that – in keeping with Jamaica’s national motto of “Out of many, one people” – aims to illustrate Jamaica’s eventful past, from the earliest Taíno inhabitants to the influence exerted by the later Spanish, African, English, Indian and Chinese settlers. After a warm welcome by colourfully clothed Jonkonnu (carnival) dancers, your journey through time will take you to a Taíno village and the belly of a slave ship before landing you back in the present day with a chance to participate in a typical Jamaican “passa passa”, a weekly street party that originated in Kingston.  FMH27 - Walking with Wildlife at the Swamp Safari Village (2 hrs) - Falmouth, Jamaica
It’s 1969 and an American known as Ross Kananga heads for Jamaica, not in search of holiday thrills, but to pursue an entirely more adventurous end: to found a crocodile farm in the virgin mangrove swamps near Falmouth. The venture that began in late 1970 along with two local friends quickly drew the crowds and has since grown to provide a sanctuary for much more than just crocodiles. A short drive will first take you through the pretty Georgian town of Falmouth to reach the Village, after which your guided swamp safari will begin. Prepare to hold your breath as Buddy, intrepid croc wrangler by trade, handles these amazing reptiles, sneak a peek at the (non-poisonous) Jamaican yellow snake, look upwards to see rare birds as you stroll through the aviary and get your fill of cute-looking critters like Jamaican coneys, collared peccaries, coatimundis, agoutis, tayras and spotted pacas. A visit to the Kananga House will then transport you to the world of film when you find out how the famous croc-jumping scene was shot for the 1972 Bond movie, “Live & Let Die”. Continue the Bond moment when you sip a refreshing tropical drink at the Village Bar before setting off on your journey back to the ship. Please note: as the open-air safari involves longer periods of walking and standing in the heat, guests are recommended to wear a hat and sunglasses as well as bring/use sunscreen.
