 GOM01WI - AN INTRODUCTION TO LA GOMERA (4 hours) - S.Sebastian de la Gomera,Spain
   Leave the vessel and get ready to explore Gomera’s most interesting sights starting from San Sebastián, it’s capital city. First you’ll head north to the agricultural valley of Hermigua, famous for its banana plantations and then onto the small, enchanting village of Agulo. Surrounded by a massive basalt wall almost 300 meters high, Agulo offers a breathtaking view of the nearby island of Tenerife. From here you’ll continue and visit, Juego de Bolas, a centre where you will be well explained the history of how this island was formed and also get informed about their flora and fauna. You’ll also drive through the Laurisilva woods, to see the subtropical thermophile forest. The vegetation found in this protected area actually disappeared from the Mediterranean during the ice ages of the Quaternary era. Before returning to the ship, the tour will stop at Agando, for a glimpse of the magnificent landscape of basalt formations of volcanic origin such as Roques de Agando, Ojiva and Orchilla.  GOM02WI - RETRACING COLUMBUS’ HISTORY (4.5 hours) - S.Sebastian de la Gomera,Spain
     A half-day excursion, where you are going to know a lot of the history Christopher Columbus left behind him on the island. A coach will take you to the centre of San Sebastián, the capital of La Gomera where a walking tour starts to discover the most interesting buildings “in the footstep” of Christopher Columbus. Your first stop will be “La Casa de Colón” (Columbus’ house), where he spent his time before leaving Europe “heading for India” and discovering America. Continue to the oldest church on the island, the “Iglesia de la Asunción” where Columbus and his crew attended mass before sailing; next you will see “El Pozo de Aguada”, where Columbus collected water for his long journey, and “Torre del Conde”, The Count’s Tower, which was built to protect the citizens from attacks from the sea. Our excursion will continue following the south road towards “La Degollada de Peraza” were there will be time for a coffee break and for enjoying the marvellous views on the landscape all around.  GOM03WI - LANDSCAPES, TRADITIONS AND ANCIENT LANGUAGES ( 4 hours) - S.Sebastian de la Gomera,Spain
    San Sebastián, a pretty, picturesque village with about 7.000 inhabitants, is the capital and harbour of the island. It is also the place where Christopher Columbus prepared his ships for his long journey, took water and food supplies and attended mass there at the “Iglesia de la Asunción” before setting out on his way to America. We will leave the town to head southwards to reach “La Degollada de Peraza” and the famous “Roques de Agando”, a prominent rock formation, one of the most striking features of the island, often used as a symbol of La Gomera. Continue towards the “Pajarito” area, to the village of Chipude and to “El Cercado”, where we will stop for a short visit. This village is famous for its pottery, a familiar tradition inherited from one generation to another. We continue to the village of Arure, where we will enjoy a demonstration of “El Silbo de la Gomera”, a whistled language spoken by the inhabitants of the island.     Treat yourself to a day to discover the beauties of this enchanting island, admiring its landscapes and its vegetation. Leave the capital city of San Sebastián, driving up to “Roques de Agando”, where a photo stop is on the schedule. Next you will continue to the National Park of Garajonay, located at a height of 1.487 metres above sea level, and to the village of Chipude. Continue to “El Cercado”, where you will stop to enjoy the ceramics of La Gomera at the “Artesanía de El Cercado”.    Enjoy an introduction to this beautiful island, including the “Santuario de la Virgen de las Nieves” and the famous national park of Caldera de Taburiente. Leave the port for a short drive to the “Santuario de la Virgen de las Nieves”, the Patron Saint of the island. Located in a peaceful spot, surrounded by trees and greenery, it is the spiritual center of all the people of La Palma and its foundation dates from the years of the Conquest. Enjoy an interior visit of the church whose interior is richly decorated and contrasts with the simplicity of the façade. Next step of the tour will be the “Mirador de la Cumbrecita”, from where you will have a view of the Caldera de Taburiente National Park, created in 1954; do not forget your cameras to take suggestive pictures of one of the biggest craters in the world.      Astonishing volcano landscape and tasting of local wines are the ingredients of this excursion! Leave the port and enjoy a coach drive to the south of the island passing vineyards, lava streams and pine trees. You will reach Fuencaliente that registers the wildest repertory of historic eruptions of La Palma and is also famous for wine production.
