MAL01 - CITY TOUR-4 HRS

Your excursion will begin with an informative tour through the main streets of Malaga. Pass along the Alameda Principal, a long avenue flanked by green, oriental trees and ficus trees. Visit the Cathedral dating back to 1528 which is one of the most important examples of Andalusian Renaissance. Enjoy an interesting visit to Gibralfaro fortress.

Note: the visit to the Cathedral and to Gibralfaro fortress will be reconfirmed during your cruise.

MAL02 - MIJAS-4 HRS

Leave the port and drive to Mijas, a typical Andalusian town with cobbled streets and white houses. There will be time at leisure to stroll around and visit the typical handicraft shops. Return to the port for embarkation.

MAL04 - ALHAMBRA IN GRANADA ( about 8 hours with lunch )

Enjoy an interesting visit to the famous and most impressive Alhambra in Granada, a fortified royal residence located on the top of a hill, declared a cultural world heritage by Unesco. Visit of  the  Generalife Gardens, reminiscent of the Renaissance Italian villas with its terraces and beautiful fountains. Lunch included.

Note : limited seats. The transfer to the Alhambra takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes. The visit on foot of the Alhambra and the Gardens lasts about 2 hours and a half. This tour is not foreseen for Guests onboard MSC Melody

MAL05 - MARBELLA & PUERTO BANUS-4 HRS

Leave the port to reach Marbella, the most exclusive village of the “Costa del Sol”, located between the mountains and the sea. Your guide will show you around the most important venues of the village such as the “Iglesia de la Encarnación” built in a late gothic style. Then continue to Puerto Banus where you will have free time for a coffee break (not included) or to discover this lovely seaside city, famous for its impressive yachts.

MAL06 - THE CAVES OF NERJA-4.5 HRS

Level of difficulty: moderate

One hour drive will take you to the town of Nerja where the famous caves discovered in 1959 await your visit. Considered the most beautiful caves in Europe, this excursion will give you the possibility to admire various chambers, such as the Cataclysm Chamber, housing the 32 metres high central column or the Hall of Nativity. Admire the paintings witnessing that men inhabited these caves about 20.000 to 30.000 years ago. Before heading back to Malaga you will have free time and can admire the beautiful panoramic view from the “Balcony of Europe”.

Note      : the visit to the Caves winds through steps, stairs, narrow passages and slippery ground.

MAL07 - A TASTE OF ANDALUSIA-4 HRS

Level of difficulty: easySnack

Leave the vessel and enjoy an orientative tour of Malaga including an inside visit to Gibralfaro castle, located on the top of a mount where, according to Muslim sources, a Phoenician lighthouse stood. The castle was built by the Caliph of Granada in the XIV century. Continue to the “Malagueta”, the seventh bullfighting arena that Malaga has had. Visit the ring and the museum. The excursion will also give you an idea of what flamenco, the essence of Spain, is. In a studio, you will experience the real flamenco by admiring artists singing and dancing what is considered a real art. Snack included.
