 MLT01 - VALLETTA AND MDINA (approx. 4 hours) - 2014
Difficulty level: moderate - May involve inclines, steps, uneven surfaces and/or extended periods of standing  Cultural  Visit the Barraka gardens with their wonderful panoramic view over the Great Harbour before moving on to the lovely St. John’s Cathedral which dates back to the ancient Knights of Malta and is rich in treasures, including masterpieces by Caravaggio. On to Mdina, known as the “silent town” and which is dominated by the Baroque style St. Paul’s Cathedral; we will visit St. Paul’s before walking the narrow streets of this medieval city. Return to the ship. Please note: the visit to Mdina is entirely on foot with walking on long distances so this tour is not recommended for guests with mobility problems. There might be restrictions in shooting videos or taking pictures inside the Cathedrals.

 MLT03 - RABAT, MOSTA & MDINA (approx. 3.5 hours) - 2014
Difficulty level: moderate - May involve inclines, steps, uneven surfaces and/or extended periods of standing  Cultural  Shopping  Visit of the “silent town” of Mdina, walking the medieval streets and admiring the city's old bastion. We will continue to the town of Rabat and stop at a crafts centre to purchase souvenirs. The last stop of the tour is Mosta, where we will visit the Cathedral, distinguished by its splendid dome: an architectural feat and the third largest unsupported dome in the world. Please note: the visit to the handicraft centre may be replaced by a visit to a glass-blowing factory. The visit to Mdina is entirely on foot with walking on long distances so this tour is not recommended for guests with mobility problems. Nearly opposite Cottonera lies the Maltese capital, Valletta, whose harbour you will approach via the water route. The city has retained much of its architectural heritage and one of its most iconic sights is Valletta waterfront, a marvel of 18th-century Baroque architecture that has been extensively restored. Do take your camera to capture awe-inspiring views of the waterfront, while also enjoying a wine-tasting session at this unique location. Featuring sheer limestone cliffs along a coastline peppered with deep caves, the island used to be a favourite hideout for pirates and marauders in the middle ages. Today, the island is a bird sanctuary and nature reserve that boasts enchanting natural bays, which makes it a popular destination for day trippers. Your tour begins by boarding a motorboat straight off the ship and continues with a relaxing trip on the water. A light snack will be served on the boat to all guests participating in the tour. The abundant beauty of the scenery is certainly worth a snapshot, so do bring your camera. The tour ends with your return to the ship. You will stop at the Red Tower in Ghadira Bay, Mellieha, from where you can admire the view out over the islands of Gozo and Comino. Drive through the countryside and travel off road to Golden Sands Bay. Continue to Mtalheb, stopping for photos and to Mdina before returning to the ship. Please note: participants must be at least 5 years of age, provided that they can be properly seated and wearing a seatbelt. The safari leader will provide you with information only in English during the trip. Comfortable shoes and casual clothing are recommended. Look no further than our dolphin day, ideal older for kids and nature lovers alike. Leave the pier heading for the Marine Park where we will have a short talk on dolphin behaviours and learn how to interact with these gentle mammals. We will then proceed to the dolphin pool where you will meet and play with trained bottlenose dolphins for about 20 minutes. Free time in the Marine Park before returning to the vessel. Please note: guests must be good swimmers and in good physical condition in order to participate in this tour. Participants must be at least 8 years of age. The Village is named after the movie ‘Popeye’ which was shot on this location in 1980 and still houses the ‘Popeye’ Movie set. Visiting the Village you can enjoy the animated Popeye themed shows as well as the many attractions of the water park: fun for everybody, young children and adults. There is also a small splash pool and private beach area. A restaurant is also open offering various foods and refreshments.
